TCEC employees donate to local food pantry - Beaver
TCEC employees raised funds for local community food pantries. The cooperative matched the funds raised by employees for a total of $2,250.00 this year. Three food pantries in local communities will each receive $750. An additional $100 was given to each food pantry by Golden Spread Electric Cooperative in honor of TCEC.
“With the economy like it has been the past year, there’s been heavy demand on our food pantry,” said David Glascock, food pantry coordinator. “With the generosity of the community, we’ve always had plenty. We’ve probably had double the demand this year. It’s been tough.”
TCEC Member Solutions Vice President Chris Purdy said, “‘Concern for Community’ and ‘Cooperation Among Cooperatives’ are two of our seven cooperative principles. Our employees and Golden Spread gave generously this year to help those in need.”
Other local food pantries receiving funds this year are in Guymon, Oklahoma, and Elkhart, Kansas.
