Oklahoma Strong

Helping those affected by the western Oklahoma wildfires

The western Oklahoma wildfires are close to home. TCEC sent two crews and released a contractor to assist Northwestern Electric Cooperative in Woodward with restoration efforts. Northwestern Electric released TCEC’s crews and the contractor this morning.

Oklahoma Emergency Management reported on April 19 that “more than 40 people in Dewey and Woodward counties have reported damages to their homes, outbuildings, vehicles or property.”

The Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives has an established fund called the “Touchstone Energy Oklahoma Disaster Relief Fund, Inc.” Members can write a check with “Western OK Wildfires” in the memo line and those funds will be used to help people affected by the wildfires in electric cooperative territories.

TCEC believes we are Oklahoma Strong because communities help communities state-wide. For more information on ways to help, see the Oklahoma Emergency Management page at https://www.ok.gov/OEM.
