Inside the No Man’s Land Museum, the Jay Risling mural titled "Harvest" has hung in the Guymon Post Office since 1939. The mural was removed from the wall when the Post Office was moved to its current location in Guymon. It was rolled up and stored in a city barn until donated to the No Man's Land Museum by the City of Guymon. The mural is being treated to soften the canvas.
At TCEC, community support goes beyond delivering reliable electricity—it’s about lighting up lives. One of the most impactful ways TCEC does this is through Operation Round Up (ORU), a charitable program that turns small change into significant community impact.
ORU is a voluntary program that rounds participating members’ monthly electric bills up to the nearest dollar. That extra change—an average of just $6 per meter per year—is pooled into a fund that supports charitable, educational, and emergency service initiatives across the region.
Funds from ORU are distributed to:
- Nonprofit organizations
- Community-based groups
- Fire departments and emergency services
- Schools and educational programs
These disbursements help strengthen the Oklahoma Panhandle, ensuring that vital services and programs continue to thrive.
In the second quarter of 2025, ORU awarded over $15,000 to six deserving organizations:
- $5,000.00 to the Felt Fire Department
- $1,500.00 to the Rose Nwatu Cancer Foundation, Inc.
- $2,000.00 to the Panhandle Cares Association
- $3,500.00 to No Man’s Land Historical Society
- $900.00 to the Cimarron Heritage Center
- $3,000.00 to Panhandle Services for Children
These funds help provide everything from fire safety equipment to cancer support services, food assistance, historical preservation, and child welfare programs.
Applications for Quarter 3 of 2025 are now open! Community organizations are encouraged to apply by September 26 for consideration at the October 8 board meeting.
If you're a TCEC member and not yet enrolled in the ORU program, consider joining today. It’s a simple way to make a lasting difference—just pennies a month can help power hope, safety, and opportunity in our communities.
