Tree Trimming Underway Across Guymon to Ensure Power Safety and Reliability
Guymon, OK — Tree trimming contractors will be active throughout the Guymon area in the coming months as part of a vital initiative by Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) to maintain safe and reliable electric service for residents.
This proactive vegetation management is essential to reduce and eliminate outages. TCEC crews will be clearing designated rights of way—specific areas within the service territory—to:
- Keep power lines free from overhanging limbs
- Enable faster restoration of power during outages
- Enhance safety for workers and community members
- Minimize unexpected repair expenses
Tree trimming will begin in south Guymon from July through mid-August, focusing on areas south of Hwy 54 and Hwy 412 and west of Hwy 136.

To support member safety, TCEC offers a free service to temporarily disconnect and drop service wires at the member’s request. This allows members to safely perform their own tree trimming. Once the work is complete, TCEC will return to reconnect the service—at no cost—during regular business hours.
“Vegetation management is a key part of delivering reliable service to our members,” CEO of TCEC Zac Perkins said. “We appreciate the community’s cooperation as crews work to keep our infrastructure safe and strong.”
Residents are encouraged to contact TCEC at 580-652-2418 or email info@tcec.coop with any questions or to schedule a service wire drop before beginning tree trimming near power lines.
