At the District 8 meeting on August 8, TCEC member Marvin Headrick of Turpin was elected to represent members on the cooperative’s Board of Trustees. District 2 trustee Gayla James of Boise City and District 6 trustee Larry Dunn of Elkhart, Kansas, will continue to serve on the board following their respective district meetings.
Democratic Member Control is number two of the seven universal cooperative principles. District meetings to elect trustees exemplify this principle.
“We appreciate everyone who came to all three meetings to show their support for the candidates and cooperative,” TCEC CEO Zac Perkins said. “We are truly a member-driven organization.”
A quorum of five percent of the members in the district must be present for business to be conducted. A quorum for District 8 was 60 members and one was present with 69 registered members. Sixteen members registered at the District 2 meeting and 33 registered at District 6. A quorum was not present at either meeting.
Members who are interested in learning more about the cooperative and its current activities are encouraged to attend the annual meeting on Thursday, September 19, at 5:30 p.m. in the Texas County Activity Center in Guymon.
