TCEC chooses power supply contract with Golden Spread Electric Cooperative

Members will benefit from continued reliable power as the local Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) Board of Trustees has chosen Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, Inc. (GSEC) as its long-term power supplier.

TCEC issued a request for proposal for power supply and received 44 responses.  Among those was GSEC, which currently supplies power for part of TCEC’s needs. The request for proposal was issued because TCEC’s current contract with Southwestern Public Service (SPS) for approximately 70 megawatts of power expires in July 2021.

Remove weather connection app from your mobile device

The Touchstone Energy Weather Connection app is no longer supported and will stop working September 15. The developer chose to stop providing the app due to its cost.  Please remove it from your phone if you have it installed. Co-op Connections: Beauty and the Beast Hair Care Supply Store

TCEC members who present their Co-op Connections membership card at Beauty and the Beast Hair Care Supply Store will receive $5 off any unlimited monthly tanning package.

Member Appreciation Meal and Annual Meeting Sept. 21, 2017

You and your family are invited to TCEC’s member appreciation meal and annual meeting of the membership. Enjoy a barbecue meal while hearing an update on your electric cooperative. Plus, every member who attends will receive a free gift. Many members in attendance will win door prizes. One member will win $500 and another will receive a TCEC Community Solar subscription. This is a great way to be involved in your cooperative.

The Co-op Connections card will arrive in area hometown newspapers this week. Check the inserts in the Boise City News, The Herald-Democrat, Beaver, The Hooker Advance, and the Elkhart Tri-State News. The weekend edition of the Guymon Daily Herald will have the card as an insert.

Looking for a job with energy? Apply for lineworker opening

TCEC will be accepting employment applications until Monday, August 14, 2017 for the position of Line-Worker. This position will assist lineman in the construction, replacement, and maintenance of electric distribution and transmission line, structures, and equipment. TCEC Delegates Return from Youth Tour

The 2017 Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour was June 9 through June 16. Three area high school juniors and 67 other cooperative delegates attended the trip. The delegates represented their local electric cooperatives in Washington D.C.

Youth Tour is the experience of a lifetime where delegates build everlasting friendships. Not only do they travel to a new place, they tour historic monuments, remember the fallen, learn legislation, discover more new places and connect with Congress.

Co-op Connections: Texas County Farm Bureau

TCEC members who present their Co-op Connections card at Texas County Farm Bureau in Guymon for a free quote will receive one free promotional item and $5 off new membership.

“We are Oklahoma’s voice of agriculture,” said Farm Bureau agent Cory Winters.

8th graders represent TCEC at Energy Camp 2017

Three area eighth grade students representing TCEC recently returned from the 2017 Energy Camp. The delegates were among 80 outstanding eighth graders chosen from across the state to attend the four-day camp held at Canyon Camp in Hinton, Oklahoma.
