Member Matters – Democratic Member Control

By Zac Perkins, CEO

At the District 3, 4 and 9 meetings this week, a quorum was not present at any of the meetings so business, like an election, could not be conducted as per the Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) Bylaws. That means the incumbent trustee for each district will continue to serve on the board for the next three years.

Trustees serving the members of each district are:

  • District 1: Randy Schreiner
  • District 2: Gayla James
  • District 3: Ronny White
  • District 4: Beau Rapp
  • District 5: Kyle Hawkins
  • District 6: Larry Dunn
  • District 7: Shawn Martinez
  • District 8: Marvin Headrick
  • District 9: Richard Radcliff

Democratic Member Control is number two of the seven universal cooperative principles. District meetings to elect trustees exemplify this principle. Trustees represent the interests of the cooperative’s members as they govern the cooperative.

We appreciate everyone who came to all three meetings to show their support for the candidates and cooperative. We are truly a member-driven organization.

Members who are interested in learning more about the cooperative and its current activities are encouraged to attend the quarterly Virtual Town Hall via Facebook Live Tuesday, Sept. 14, at noon. I will also provide a report on the cooperative at our annual meeting on Thursday evening, Sept. 23, at the Texas County Activity Center in Guymon.
