Calling all eighth graders within TCEC’s service territory! You have the exciting opportunity to win a four-day trip to Oakridge Christian Camp & Retreat Center near Anadarko, Oklahoma, for a leadership development experience. Energy Camp is an immersive leadership camp where students experience the power of teamwork, electric cooperatives and personal growth. To enter, form a team of three (mixed teams are allowed; housing will be separated by gender) and get parental permission. Follow these steps to apply:
School Energy Audit
- Look around your school and figure out where energy is being used and where it might be wasted.
- Think about everything that affects energy use, like the weather, what the building is made of, and how people use things.
- Find ways to help your school use less energy.
- Share simple tips that other students and schools can use to save energy.
1. Research all aspects of the topic and decide how to solve the problem.
2. Create a presentation for a teacher or school administration.
3. Your team will either create their own video addressing the above prompt or video your team presenting to a group of people. Be creative!
4. IMPORTANT! Upload your video to YouTube and set it to unlisted. This keeps your video private and not available for public viewing. Only include the link in the application.
5. Upload your supporting documents. (i.e. – PowerPoint, Word, PDF, etc.). Make sure the document is no larger than 400 MB.
6. Fill out the application with information for each team member.
